Weedn is a forensic pathologist, UMB graduate school adjunct Professor and Adjunct Professor of Forensic Science Department at George Washington University. Dr. Weedn was the president of American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS) in 2015-2016 and also served as a member of the Forensic Science Foundation (FSF) Research Committee and Chaired the AAFS Amicus Brief Committee. He has been on the National Association of Medical Examiner (NAME) Board of Directors (1994-2000) and the Executive Committee (1999-2000). Dr. Weedn has won many awards, including Iceberg, Star, and President’s awards from NAME and Milton Helpern award from the AAFS, their highest award at the AAFS Annual meeting on February, 15, 2017. He continues to serve on the editorial boards of the Journal of Forensic Sciences, Academic Forensic Pathology, the American Journal of Forensic Medicine and Pathology, and Journal of Forensic Science and Medicine. Dr. Weedn has authored and co-authored numerous peer reviewed articles and book chapters.
