March is Career Development Month

UMB’s Career Development Consortium, representing career development professionals from each of UMB’s professional schools and central administration, is excited to announce March is Career Development Month 2026!

This month-long series includes virtual and in-person professional development events, as well as resume/CV reviews. 

The event is open to all UMB students, staff, faculty, and post-docs.

Resume and CV Review

Get a one-on-one resume or CV review with a UMB career development professional. Upon uploading a copy of your resume or CV, you will receive an email with the name and email of the career development professional assigned to review your resume/CV. You must reach out to the volunteer to schedule a time for the review. Reviews will be conducted virtually on either Zoom or Teams.

Meet Your UMB Career Development Professionals

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is firmly committed to fostering student success both academically and professionally. To support students throughout their educational journey, UMB offers a comprehensive array of career development resources at both the school-specific and campus-wide levels. Career development professionals primarily serve students within their respective schools; however, they also collaborate on broader institutional initiatives, including UMB’s annual Career Development Month, Career Lab, and the Bridges to Biotech program. Below meet the representatives from each school who serve on the consortium to support the success of our students. 

Taylor DeBoer, MA, Acting Director of the Grid, leads UMB's entrepreneurial hub dedicated to nurturing student innovators through comprehensive support services. The Grid empowers student entrepreneurs across UMB through personalized mentorship, strategic pitch development, access to funding opportunities, targeted programming, and specialized career services. As Acting Director, Taylor oversees the Grid's robust calendar of more than 40 annual events, including the signature Grid Pitch program, which provides 6 weeks of intensive mentorship to promising student entrepreneurs, culminating in a showcase event where participants present their concepts to a live audience of peers, faculty, and potential investors. Kate Noonan, PhD, MSEd, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs. Dr. Noonan supports students throughout their enrollment and beyond graduation, and provides guidance on residency and post-graduate preparation. This includes advising on developing competitive applications, providing Institutional Evaluations and Dean’s Letters of Recommendation, and connecting students with faculty and other mentors for additional guidance. Dawn Roberts, EdD, MA, Associate Dean for Organizational Wellness & Engagement. Dr. Roberts supports students in career development and professional preparation throughout their training. With extensive experience in residency and postgraduate application preparation, Dr. Roberts provides individualized career guidance, CV and personal statement review, mock interviews, and strategic residency planning. Jennifer Aumiller, PhD, Director, Graduate and Postdoc Career and Professional Development, serves postdoctoral fellows at UMB as well as master's and PhD students in the Graduate Program in Life Sciences. In addition to providing career and professional development seminars and individual meetings, Jenn is also the co-director for the Collaborative Teaching Fellows Program, which is open to all masters, PhD, and postdoctoral fellows at UMB, as well as the administrative director for UMB’s Center for the Integration of Research Teaching and Learning, which is open to all masters, PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty at UMB. Troy Parker, PhD, Associate Director, Career Development and Placement, serves the students enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. As the Associate Director of Career Development and Placement at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, Troy helps PharmD students build strong, successful career paths through personalized coaching, professional development programming, and strategic employer engagement. Students can schedule appointments with me for mock interviews, CV and letter of intent reviews, job search support, and more. He also partners with industry leaders to expand access to internships, residencies, and fellowships, empowering students to pursue their professional goals with confidence and clarity. Nina Roa, MPA, Associate Director, Career Development and Placement, supports the students enrolled in the multiple masters and PhD programs housed in the School of Pharmacy.  Nina is available for resume reviews, job search strategies, and interview prep. Aaron Graham, JD, Associate Director of Career Counseling, University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, serves as an Associate Director of Career Counseling at the Francis King Carey School of Law. He and the Career Development Office team advise JD, LLM, and MSL students on career planning and job-search strategies for both private and public-sector opportunities. Aaron can be reached for questions related to resume and cover letter review, interview preparation, networking strategies, and navigating the legal job market. Prior to joining Carey Law, Aaron served as Director of Legal Recruiting at Special Counsel in Baltimore and practiced as a plaintiff's attorney in toxic tort litigation. Alex Cosentino-Tich, LCSW-C, Academic and Career Advisor, School of Social Work. Alex serves as the Academic and Career Advisor for MSW students at the School of Social Work. Alex and the Career Development Team provide career development opportunities and guidance for graduating students. Alex can be reached for questions related to licensing, resume and cover letter review, and narrowing down the job search. Susan Hindle, MS, Associate Director of the Office of Academic and Career Success, assists undergraduate and graduate students with all aspects of career development, including resume/CV writing, interview preparation, networking, and job search strategies.  Susan also oversees all aspects of employer relations and employer partnerships for the School of Nursing.  Susan brings over 20 years of experience counseling/coaching individuals within various stages of their careers, including young professionals who are just beginning their career journey, to non-traditional students embarking on a career change. Susan earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Maryland and her master’s degree in clinical counseling from The Johns Hopkins University.
