Our program is designed to bridge the gap between groundbreaking research and real-world practice, addressing the critical need for professionals skilled in implementing and disseminating scientific findings. By the end of this course, participants will be able to design research for complex health systems, consider global strategies and barriers, and utilize theories, models, and frameworks for local adaptation. The course objectives include developing skills in reflective real-time practice, evidence-based research, critical thinking, policy advocacy, leadership, community engagement, program evaluation, and effective communication. Delivered through a combination of online asynchronous learning, reflective activities, multi-media presentations, supplementary materials, and real-time interactive case studies, the course aims to equip learners with the necessary tools to achieve key implementation outcomes such as acceptability, feasibility, adoption, penetration, cost, fidelity, and sustainability. This comprehensive approach ensures that participants can effectively translate evidence into practice, ultimately enhancing health service delivery and outcomes.

By the end of this course, you will:

• Foster Systems Thinking: Design and conduct research integrating into complex health systems, considering global strategies and barriers to scaling up interventions.
• Apply Theoretical Models and Frameworks: Use theories, models, and various frameworks to design and interpret dissemination and implementation research, ensuring effective local adaptation.
• Classify and Compare Intervention Research: Differentiate between research questions and frameworks in dissemination and implementation science, comparing measures and evaluating global approaches.
• Evaluate and Scale Interventions: Relate research to implementation and scale-up processes, critically assessing studies and highlighting social determinants and stakeholder engagement.
• Utilize Interdisciplinary Approaches: Describe the role of interdisciplinary teamwork in global implementation science and apply epidemiology and program evaluation designs.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and integrate stakeholders in planning and communicating research, ensuring sustainable and context-specific outcomes.

Implementation and Dissemination Science is a 12-credit, four-course online post-baccalaureate certificate program offered in an asynchronous, 100% online environment. This means that we offer maximum flexibility to meet the needs of working professionals. There are no online meetings or set times when you'll need to log in; just submit your coursework before the posted deadline, and check back in for feedback from your instructors and classmates.
